2023-01-13 Fri

The Royal Thai Mint issued Thai Baht coins in 9 different denominations, including this one that represents 10 Thai Baht. They are from the Thai Baht coin series. The Royal Thai Mint began releasing these 10 Thai Baht coins in 1988.

The Thai coin is issued by Thailand. The obverse portrays Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), a Buddhist temple (wat) in Bangkok's Bangkok Yai district on the Thonburi west bank of the Chao Phraya River. On the reverse, the 9th monarch of the Chakri dynasty, Bhumibol Adulyadej of Rama IX, 1946, is depicted. Its series runs from 1946 through 2008, with Rama IX (Bhumipol Adulyadej). The 10-baht Thai coin is bimetallic and looks very similar to a 2-euro coin. There are no Latin characters on the 10-baht coin. The Thai text on the coin resembles "UIN 10".
