Commemorative Stamp of Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji, known as Fugaku, is located on the island of Honshu. It is the highest mountain in Japan and has an elevation of 12,389 ft 3 in and is the second-highest volcano on an island in Asia and the seventh-highest peak on the Earth. The mountain is nearly 100km southwest of Tokyo. Mount Fuji is an exceptionally symmetrical cone covered in snow for about 5months of the year and is used as a cultural icon of Japan and is well-visited by visitors and climbers. Mount Fuji last erupted on 16th December 1707.Mount Fuji belongs to the “Three Holy Mountains” of Japan with Mount Tate and Haku. In Japan’s history, it is of great importance and is a special place of scenic beauty. World Heritage Sites added Mount Fuji on 22nd June 2013.
The above-given stamp is a commemorative stamp. It is a Reddish brown-coloured stamp, issued on 10th July 1936 by Japan with a face value of one and a half Japanese sen. We see an image of Mount Fuji on the stamp, and the face value is in the bottom left corner.
