Albert Frederick Arthur George Windsor was born on 14 December, 1865. He was the second son of George V and Queen Mary and served as King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth from 11 December 1936 until his death in 1952.George VI served in Royal Navy between 1913 and 1917, and in Royal Royal Naval Air Service between 1917and 1919, and then in Royal Air Force in 1919. He sat on the throne of British Empire unexpectedly in December 1936, because his brother King Edward VIII gave up his right to the British throne.
This silver rupee minted in Bombay in 1938 was issued by King George VI during his rule.
