Syed Ahmad Khan Commemorative Stamp

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was an Indian Muslim reformer, philosopher and educationist. He was the pioneer of Muslim nationalism in India and is considered the father of the two-nation theory. He was the architect of modern India who started his career as a civil servant. He received an honorary law degree from the University of Edinburgh.

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was the founder of the educational and socio-cultural movement. He died on March 27, 1898, leaving behind his rich legacy and interred within the Aligarh University campus beside Sir Syed Masjid. In memory of Syed Ahmed Khan, India Postal Department has issued a commemorative postage stamp. Both stamps depict his portrait.
