Deccan College Bicentenary

DECCAN COLLEGE BICENTENARY was established on 6th October 1821 by the name of The Hindoo College and was established by the Bombay Presidency Government at the request of Maratha Sardar. The college developed as one of the leading institutes for higher education, training, and research. On 7th June 1851, it was renamed The Poona College. After sometime in October 1864, its name changed to Deccan College. On 23rd March 1868, College was shifted to a new place near Yerawada.

The Stamp was issued by Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Governor of Maharashtra in a press conference about the history and heritage of the college on its bicentenary.
