Princely State Travancore Gold Double Pagoda Listed For INR 4,50,000

Travancore was a Princely State during British rule in India, ruled by the royal family of Padmanabhapuram and later by Thiruvananthapuram. The Kingdom of Travancore at its zenith comprised most of modern-day southern Kerala, the Kanyakumari district, and the southernmost parts of Tamil Nadu.This very rare gold double pagoda weighs around 5.1g and is listed for INR 4,50,000 in an upcoming auction of Todywalla, which will be held in Mumbai on 2022, December 17. The obverse side of this gold mohur depicts a conch shell within the wreath and the reverse side of this gold mohur depicts Tamil legend ‘Sri Padmanabha’ written in three lines.
