Remembering Dugadas Rathore on his Death Anniversary

Durgadas Rathore was a famous personality of Marwar. He was the suryavanshi Rathore Rajput and the General of the Kingdom of Marwar. Dugadas Rathore served as a ruler of the Rathore Dynasty after the death of Maharaja Jaswant Singh in the 17th century.Durgadas Rathore played a vital role in the Rebellion of Rajput between 1708 and 1710. He got elected as leader of the revolt along with Raja Jai Singh II of Jaipur. He won several battles against the Mughal Empire and forced the Mughal Empire to pay tribute to him in the form of Chauth.
Durgadas Rathore died today, on November 22, 1718, on the banks of the Shipra at Ujjain at the age of 81.
The Government of India issued his commemorative stamp in 1988 to commemorate him and his work.
