Charles Philip Arthur George, also known as Charles III, was born on 14th November 1948 in Buckingham Palace.During his birth, his maternal grandfather, King George VI reigned. His mother (Elizabeth II) ascended the throne in 1952, when he was just 3; years old, making him the heir-apparent to the crown. He was made the Prince of Wales in 1962, and his investiture, was conducted in 1969.
Prince Charles was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools. From the University of Cambridge, he earned a Bachelor of Arts. From 1971-1976 served in the air force and the navy. br>
Charles founded a youth charity named the Prince’s Trust in 1976. Sponsors the Prince’s Charity and is a patron, member or president of over 400 other charities and organizations.
Charles III ascended the throne and became the King of the United Kingdom, and other 14 commonwealth territories after the demise of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on 8th September 2022. Prince Charles has been the Heir for the longest serving period (1952-2022). Charles was the oldest person to sit on the throne of the United Kingdom.
