World War 1, also known as The Great War, was a conflict between countries from 1914 to 1918, including the countries of Germany, Austria- Hungary and Turkey, and various other regions known as the Central Powers against the Allies France, Great Britain, Russia, Japan, Italy and The United States joined in 1917.

The war broke out when Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated along with his wife Sophie, the Duchess of Hohenberg, at Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia, on 28TH June 1914.

The Central powers dominated the first half, as the number of soldiers dead and wounded was less than the Allied Powers.

The scenario took a turn in the second half as the Allied Powers took over the driving seat, and all the Central Powers started collapsing and came to be evident during the last phase of the war.

In 1918, the war ended, as the German military was on the verge of mutiny and signed the armistice under the New German government, which brought the war to an end.

The above given Mini Sheet is commemorative as it shows The First WORLD War. This miniature sheet was issued on the 26th of August 2015 by the country of Grenada, which is a Caribbean country.
