Moray Amphitheater Commemorative Stamp

Moray is an archaeological site in Peru approximately 50km northwest of Cuzco and just west of the village of Maras. It is one of the most famous Inca ruins near Cusco. The site contains the Inca ruins containing several terraced circular depressions, the largest of which is approximately 30 m (98 ft) deep. The site also has an irrigation system, like many other Inca sites. The massive bowl-like depression constructed a series of concentric terraces that look like ancient Greek. The concentric terraces contain multiple staircases. The purpose of depression is too uncertain depth, design, and orientation for wind and sun, creating a temperature difference of 5 °C (9 °F) between the top and the bottom.Image Courtesy: colnect.com
