The Lire Currency of Italy was in circulation between 1994 and 2002. The Bank of Italy started to produce paper money in 1994; they were part of the Italian Lira banknotes series. The Banca d'Italia issued Italian Lira banknotes in 10 different denominations, including this 100000 Italian Lire banknote. The combination of colours, such as brown and green used to design banknotes.The Bank of Italy introduced the 100,000 lira note in 1994. The front side of this banknote depicts the bust of Caravaggio, an Italian painter. On the brown and green coloured paper note, a caption reads ‘Banca D’Italia. The backside features a Mediterranean fruit basket. The dimension of this note was 157x70mm.
