Sagarmal Gopa Commemorative Stamp

Sagarmal Gopa was an Indian freedom fighter from Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. His father, Akhairaj Gopa, was a courtier in Maharawal Jawahar Singh's court.Sagarmal Gopa took an active part in the non-cooperation movement in 1921. He played an active role in the non-cooperation movement in 1921, opposed the anti-people policies of the rulers of Jaisalmer and expelled them from Jaisalmer and Hyderabad. Even in exile, he continued to work for the freedom movement. On 25th May 1941, the British Government arrested him at Jaisalmer. He was burnt to death in prison on 4 April 1946.
The Government of India issued his commemorative stamp in 1986 to commemorate him and his work.
