Assam is a state located in the northeast of modern India, with Bangladesh bordering it to the west. Many kingdoms tried to conquer Assam, keeping their eye on the valley of Brahmaputra. Amongst all, the Ahoms dynasty was successful to conquered Assam. This dynasty adopted Hinduism in 1500 CE. The reverse of this coin depicts a legend in Assamese which reads " sri sri radha / krishna charana ka / mala makaranda / madhu karasya " within the line and dotted border. The weight of this coin is around 11.45g.
