Shams Al-Din Muzaffar Shah II was the sultan of the Muzaffarid dynasty. He ruled Gujarat Sultanate between 1511 CE and1526 CE. The real name of Shams Al-Din Muzaffar Shah II was Khalil Khan. He was the eldest son of Mahmud Begada and his Rajput wife, Rani Hirabai.After sitting on the throne of the Gujarat Sultanate, Shams Al-Din Muzaffar Shah II issued coins in all four metals gold, silver, billion and copper. Gold tanka weighs around 11.4g to 11.6g, and dateless gold tanka issued weighs around 12.6g. Billon coins weigh 96 rati weight standards. Some coins with 80 rati and 72 rati weight standards are also found.
This gold tanka issued by Shams Al-Din Muzaffar Shah II during his rule weighs around 11.46g. The obverse side of this gold tanka is inscribed as Al-Muayyad Bi-Ta'yid Al-Rahman Shams Al Dunya Wal Din Abul Nasr. The reverse side of this gold tanka depicts Muzaffar Shah Bin Mahmud Shah Al-Sultan.
