First Battle of Ypres Commemorative Stamp

The First Battle of Ypres was the first significant battle in WWI; it was the first of three costly World Wars I centered on the city of Ypres in western Flanders. This battle was fought between a mixed British Expeditionary Force, the French eighth army and armies of the German Empire in northern France and Flanders from October 19th to November 22nd in 1914 was part of the Western Front.The First Battle of Ypres witnessed the destruction of the experienced British regular army, later replaced by a mass conscripted army to match its allies and enemies.
This commemorative stamp on First Battle of Ypres was issued by Australia in 2017.
