Angola President on Banknote of Angola

The National Bank of Angola issued this 500 Kwanza depicting their president Jose Eduardo dos Santos in 2012.Jose Eduardo dos Santos was the president of Angola between 1979 and 2017. As a president, he was also commander-in-chief of the Angolan Armed Forces(FAA) and president of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), the party that has ruled Angola since it won independence in 1975.
The obverse side of this banknote depicts Portraits of José Eduardo dos Santos in the background. Denomination ‘500’; written at the top left corner of the note, and the lettering 'BANCO NACIONAL DE ANGOLA'. The reverse side of this banknote depicts Andulo waterfalls, Denomination above, National Coat of Arms left and lettering 'QUINHENTOS KWANZAS', written at the top right corner.
