Karnak Temple also called Al-Karnak is an ancient Egyptian temple located on the east bank of the Nile River in Thebes. It covers more than 100 hectares, an area larger than some ancient cities.The Karnak temple complex at Luxar was developed over more than 2000 years, dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. The complex remains one of the largest religious complexes in the world. The Karnak temple consists of several temples, chapels, and other buildings in the form of a village; due to his reason the temple is named Karnak, as in Arabic Karnak means 'fortified village’.
