Iran 10.000 Rials Banknote of 2017

The Iranian Rial is the official legal currency of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The rial was first introduced in 1798 as a coin worth 1,250 dinars. In 1932, notes were issued by the "Bank Melli Iran" in denominations of Rls.5, Rls.10, Rls.20, Rls.50, Rls.100 and Rls.500.The ten thousand rial banknote is a denomination of Iranian currency that was considered its largest denomination for decades. The banknote has had many different versions, featuring portraits of three Iranian rulers. Its latest version was published in 2017.
In the design on the back of the new 10,000 riyal banknote, the image of Hafez's tomb is shown along with the poem of Lasan al-Ghaib along with the motifs such as flower, salimis, black lines, along with verses from Hafez in Nastaliq's cursive script. The obverse of the banknote features the portrait of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
