The Kakatiya dynasty was the South-Indian dynasty that ruled in the eastern Deccan region comprising present-day Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. They also ruled over the part of eastern Karnataka and southern Odisha between the 12th and 14th centuries.The Kakatiyas of Warangal are well known for their construction of tanks for irrigation and drinking water. They gave a big boost to the overall development of the region.
