This beautiful gold gadayna was issued from Kadambas of Hangal in the name of king Nakareshwara. This gold gadayna was sold for INR 2,00,000 in an online auction at the Classical Numismatic Gallery held on August 06, 2022.Hangal is located in Havari district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Kadambas of Hangal is one of the various branches of the Kadambas dynasty. The dynasty ruled this region during the later classical period in the Indian subcontinent. The Kadambas of Hangal consist of the eastern part of the North Canara district and the Western Part of the Dharwad district.
The obverse of this coin depicts a seated Hanumana facing towards the right an image of Shanka on each side and the Nagari legend ‘Nakara’ written below Hanumana. The reverse side of the coin depicts an ornamental scroll within decorative borders.
