Scouting provides kids with various activities and experiences that no other youth program can match. It includes several activities related to physical, mental & spiritual development and hands-on learning is at the heart of our program.

The Scouts movement in India has an illustrious history. In the beginning, only European and Anglo -Indian boys were allowed to do scout training; Indian boys were not allowed to do scouting. In 1910, a Crystal palace rally was held where girls wanted to join the Scout movement. Lord Baden Powell decided to start a movement for Girls with the help of his sister Agnes Baden Powell. Hence, a corresponding movement was started for girls called as Guide Movement. In India, the Scouts Movement started in 1909 and the Guide Movement in 1911.

In 1916, with the effort of Dr. Annie Besant, the Indian Boy Scout Association was founded in Madras in 1916. The movement initially started under different names in different provinces in India, such as the Sewa Samiti Scouts Association.
