Shah Jahan Gold Mohur Sold For INR 2,10,000

This Gold Mohur issued by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan was sold for INR 2,10,000 in an auction of Todywalla held in Mumbai on 23 April 2022. The weight of this gold mohur is around 10.91g, and it was issued during the 7th regnal year of Shah Jahan, in the Hijri Year 1043.Shah Jahan was the fifth ruler of the Mughal Empire. He sat on the throne of the Mughal Empire after Jahangir in 1628 CE and ruled it until 1658 CE.
The obverse of this coin is inscribed as Shah Jahan Badshah Gazi and AH Date and RY in quatrefoil. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as ‘Kalima in Quaterfoil and names of caliphs in the margins around’.
