Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose has a unique position in the history of modern Indian science. He inverted the Cresco graph, a device that measures the growth of plants. He used the device to determine environmental effects on vegetation.

Today on May 10, 1901, he proved that "plants and animals have similar touch sense", at the central hall of the Royal Society in London. His research helped all human beings to care better care of all plants, and also paved the way for crop cultivation and agricultural best practices.
