Maharaja Agrasen Commemorative Stamp

Maharaja Agrasen was a legendary king of Agroh, a city of trade. Agrasen was a Suryavanshi Kshatriya king, born during the last stage of Dwapar Yuga in the Mahabharat epic era.According to the Bharatendu Harishchandra’s account, Maharaja Agrasen was the son of King Vallabha Dev, who was the Descendant of Kush (Lord Rama’s Son). He was the king of the Solar Dynasty who adopted Vanika Dharma for the benefit of his people. Maharaja Agrasen was a doer king and conjured prosperity for all. Agrasen supported Socialism; he designed unique rules to ensure an egalitarian society.
This commemorative stamp was issued by the Indian Government in 1976, to commemorate him.
