Australia Honors Frontline Workers

It’s been more than two years since India was under the largest-ever self-imposed curfew, to fight the spread of COVID-19. On this occasion, we bring for you a special coin that has been issued by Australia in honor of the Covid Warriors of the country.The Royal Australian Mint issued a special commemorative coin worth 2 dollars to honor the nation’s unsung heroes, the front line workers. The front line workers have supported and protected Australians over the last two years, showing incredible resilience and exemplifying the Australian spirit.
The colorful 2 Dollars coin, released into circulation March 24, features 12 representations of some of the front line workers who have worked diligently throughout the pandemic to keep Australians safe and healthy. Some of the front line workers featured on the coin include those in the hospitals, such as doctors, nurses and paramedics.
Other critical workers are also featured on the coin, including teachers, cleaners, retail workers and contact tracers. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II along with the year of issue whereas, the denomination in on the reverse.
