Mohenjo-Daro, meaning 'Mounds of Dead Men', is an archaeological site in the Larkana District, on the bank of the Indus River, northern Sindh province, southern Pakistan. The site contains two main centres, the Ancient Indus Civilization(2500-1700BC) and the other is Harappa Culture, located some 400 miles to the northwest in Pakistan Punjab provinces.Mohenjo-Daro is one of the largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. It is one of the world's earliest major sites built around 2500 BC; this site is contemporaneous with the civilization of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Minoan Crete and Notre Chico. Mohenjo-Daro was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1980.
