60th Anniversary of the First Human Space Flight

2021 was the 60th anniversary year of the first human space flight. On 12 April 1961, the Vostok-1 space vehicle was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome. For the first time in human history, a manned spacecraft entered the aerospace and orbited the Earth. The flight lasted one hour and 48 minutes.

This day will always be remembered in history as the day when the first human conquered space. On the 60th anniversary of the event, Russia issued a special commemorative coin. The obverse of the coin depicts the coat of arms of the country with the name of the country on the top and denomination and the year of issue at the bottom.

The reverse of the coin depicts a relief image of a flying winged human figure against the background of a colored stylized image of the sky full of stars. The date 12 April 1961 at the top of the figure and The 60th Anniversary of the First Human Space Flight is on the outer ring.
