Gold Punch-Marked Gadyana of Kakatiyas of Warangal Listed For INR 1,20,000

The Kakatiyas dynasty was the South Indian dynasty ruled in the eastern Deccan region comprising present-day Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. They also ruled the part of eastern Karnataka and southern Odisha between the 12th and 14th centuries.The Kakatiyas of Warangal are well known for their construction of tanks for irrigation and drinking water. They gave a big boost to the overall development of the region.
This gold punched-marked gadyana is listed for INR 1,20,000 in the upcoming auction of Classical Numismatic Galley that will be held in Kolkatta on April 2, 2022. The obverse of this coin depicts Nine punches struck deeply on a very thin flan - a boar facing right with sun and moon above in the center, 2x Kannada letter 'Shri', 4x six-petal lotuses, 1x Kannada legend Koma and 1x Kannada legend Lenka.
