Gold Quarter Dinar of Huvishka Listed For INR 3,50,000

Huvishka was the fifth ruler of the Kushan Empire; he sat on the throne of the Kushan Empire after Kanishka I and ruled it until the succession of Vasudeva I.The Kushan Empire was one of the most prosperous empires of India during ancient times. The Kushan Empire was established by king Kujula Kadphises in 78 AD, by gradually carving out a kingdom in the north-western part of ancient India.
The rule of king Huvishka is known as the golden age of the Kushan Empire. King Huvishka issued varieties of coins in gold and copper after sitting on the throne of the Kushan Empire. King Huvishka; is known for including Iranian deities in his coinage like Pharro, Ardoxsho, Atosho, Ahuramazda, Rishti, Asha Vahishta, Shaoreoro, can be seen on his coins.
King Huvishka issued the above gold dinar during his rule in Kushan Empire. The obverse side of this gold dinar depicts Diademed and crowned half-length bust of Huvishka left, on clouds holding mace-scepter in one hand and elephant goad (Ankus) in another hand, Bactrian legend around. The reverse side of this gold dinar depicts Bizago standing right, Skanda-Komaro (Kartikeya) standing left, their heads turned towards one another both with a sword suspended from their waists, Bactrian legend around.
This gold dinar is listed for INR 3,50,000 in the upcoming auction of Classical Numismatic Gallery that will be Kolkatta on 2nd April 2022.
