Rao Tula Ram Commemorative Stamp

RaoRula Ram was a YaduvanshiAhir King or chieftain of Rewari. He was born in Haryana on December 9, 1825 CE. He was one of the key leaders from Haryana who challenged the British regime in 1857. He is considered a state hero of Haryana. During the revolt of 1857, he became the voice of thousands of soldiers and set up a workshop for manufacturing guns and other ammunition.He also helped emperor Bahadur Shah and other rebel forces rebel against the British Raj in Delhi. He sent Rs 45000; through General Bakht Khan; ten days before the fall of Delhi; he also supplied all the necessary commodities and provided two thousand sacks of wheat in large quantity.
The Indian government issued his commemorative stamp in 2001 to commemorate him.
