Fidel Castro Commemorative Stamp

Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz was a Cuban revolutionary, lawyer, and politician; he was the leader of Cuba between 1959 and 2008. He is considered as Father of the Cuban Revolution. He ruled his country for almost 47 years, from 1959 to 2006.He has also served as prime minister of Cuba between 1959 and 1976 and president of Cuba from 1976 to 2008. He served as the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba from 1961 until 2011. Under the leadership of Fidel Castro, Cuba became a one-party communist state; industry and business were nationalized, and state socialist reforms were implemented throughout society.
This commemorative stamp was issued by Cuba in 2003, to commemorate him and his work.
