James K.Polk Commemorative Stamp James K.Polk was the 11th president of the United States of America. He served America as a president between 1845 and 1849. He has also served the United States as 13th Speaker of House of Representatives and ninth governor of Tennessee (1839–1841). A protégé of Andrew Jackson, he was a member of the Democratic Party and an advocate of Jacksonian democracy.

Under the leadership of James K.Polk, the United States fought Mexican War (1846-1848) and acquired vast territories along the Pacific coast and in the Southwest. The United States of America expanded significantly with the annexation of the Republic of Texas, the Oregon Territory, and the Mexican Cession following American victory in the Mexican–American War.
