DiwanBahadurRettamalaiSrinivasan was a scheduled Cast activist, politician, and founder of DravidaMahajanaSabha in 1893 CE from the then Madras Presidency of British India. He was closely associated with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.RettamalaiSrinivasan is always remembered as one of the pioneers of the Scheduled caste movement in India. He was invited along with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Round Table Conferences held in London in 1930-32 as the representatives of the Depressed Classes. They were successful in convincing the British Empire and another member of the conference to remove a social, economic, and political barrier for the progress of the untouchables.
