Gol Gumbaz Commemorative Stamp

Gol Gumbaz is the tomb of King Muhammad Adil Shah of the Adil Shahi Dynasty. The building is located, in Bijapur, in the Indian state of Karnataka. The particular attraction of this building's central chamber, each sound here echoed seven times. Another more fascinating thing about this building is Whispering Gallery, where even the minute sound can be heard clearly from 37 meters distance.The construction of Gol Gumbaz was started in the year 1626 CE and completed in 1656 CE. This building got its name from 'Gol Gumbadh' derived from 'Gol Gummata' meaning 'circular dome'. Gol Gumbaz is among the greatest examples of Adil Shahi architecture with one of the biggest domes in the world.
