Papua New Guinea 02 Kina Note

The kina is the currency of Papua New Guinea which was introduced on 19 May 1975 and circulated along with the Australian dollar until the end of the same year. Banknotes were introduced with the denominations of 2, 5, and 10 kinas. In the year 2007, Papua New Guinea introduced polymer banknote incorporating advanced security features to help protect the currency from counterfeiting.

This green-colored banknote depicts the bird of Paradise - National Emblem symbolizing National Unity along with the National Parliament Building. The Background images are comprised of a Tapa cloth from Central Province, a Mount Hagen ax, a Club from the Huon Gulf area, a clay pot from the Sepik, a shield from the Madang Area, a marriage bed from Manus Island, a shield from the Upper Sepik Region and A see-through bank logo.

The reverse of the banknote depicts Mount Hagen ax, Kula armband from the Milne Bay Province, engraved dog's teeth from the Bougainville area, clay pot from the Sepik Province.
