H. M. Patel was an Indian civil servant, served as the Finance Minister and later Home Minister of India. He wrote two books: ‘Rites of Passage: A Civil Servant Remembers’ and ‘The First Flush of Freedom: Recollections and Reflections’.The only one rupee note features a coin on it. The obverse and reverse of one rupee note shows the obverse and reverse effigy of one rupee coin on it respectively. This note was issued between 1966 and 1980. The size of the note is 97 × 63 mm.
