Tribute to Queen Album’s on stamp

Set of eight stamps were issued by the Royal Mail celebrating the legendary band’s record-breaking hit-making career of Queen. This special collection features classic Queen Albums covers choose in collaboration with the band. The famous albums to which this philatelic issue is devoted are Queen II (1974), Sheer Heart Attack (1974), A night At the Opera (1975), News of the World (1977), The Game (1980), Greatest Hits (1981), The works (1984) and innuendo (1991).

The collection include four additional stamp that celebrate their live performance with image of Freddie mercury at Wembley stadium in 1986, Roger Taylor at London Hyde Park in 1976, John Deacon at London’s Hammersmith Odeon in 1975 and Brain may in Budapest in 1986.

Royal Mail’s Philip Parker says: ‘With their truly original theatrical sound and effortless ability to mix musical styles, Queens are rock royalty. We pay tribute t one of the most beloved bands of all time with these stunning stamps’.
