King James IV was the king of Scotland; he ruled Scotland from 11 June 1488 CE until he died in battle 1513 CE. King James IV was the son of James III of Scotland, he succeeded his father and became one of the most popular Stewart king. Generally King James IV is regarded as most successful of the Stewart monarchs of Scotland, but his reign ended in a disastrous defeat at the Battle of Flodden. He was the last monarch from Great Britain to be killed in battle.King James IV sat on the throne at the age of 15 on 24 June 1488 CE; after sitting on the throne he established himself as an able and energetic king. He was the first effective king of the House of Stewart had produced.
