The Asiago Top Prize Goes to Swiss Post

Swiss stamps celebrating the 125th anniversary of cinema won the Asiago international award for philatelic art for stamps issued in 2020. Swiss Post issued a set of three stamps with the denomination of 100-centime in Nov 2020.The stamps are se-tenant and are designed by Zurich-based graphic artist Michael Stunzi. The stamps show movie audiences in different eras featuring the progress of projectors and operators through the years as well as illustrate changes in the movie-going public, including fashions of different eras; and highlights trends, such as the use of 3D glasses.
The Asiago prize was selected carefully not focusing on generic beauty and eye appeal but on art or creativity based on the reality and culture of the moment.
