Silver Tanka of Shams Al-Din Firuz Shah

This silver tanka that weighs around 10.75g was issued by Bengal Sultan Shams Al-Din Firuz Shah from the mint KhittaLakhnauti Mint during his rule in Bengal Sultanate.Shams Al-Din Firuz Shah sat on the throne of the Bengal Sultanate in the year 1300 CE and ruled it until 1320 CE. He was the independent ruler of the Bengal Sultanate, who ruled the Bengal Sultanate with the title ‘Al-Sultan Al-Azam Shams Al-Duniya was Al-Din Abu Al-Muzaffar Firuz Shah Al-Sultan’ and also invoked the names of Abbasid caliph Mustasim Billah on his coins.
After sitting on the throne of the Bengal Sultanate in the year 1300 CE, he was thrown out of his throne in the year 1316 CE by Shihan Al-Din Bughra. Shihab Al-Din Bughra Shihab replaces himself on the throne of the Bengal sultanate after Shams Al-Din Firuz Shah. But, later in the year, 1319 Shams-Al-Din Firuz Shah came into action and again replaces the throne in his name.
