Gaius Messius Quintus Traianus Decius, also known as Tarjan Decius, was a Roman Emperor. He ruled the Roman Emperor between 249 and 251. Before sitting on the throne of the Roman emperor, he was a politician during the reign of Philip of Arab. After putting down the rebellions in Moesia, he proclaimed himself Emperor. In 249, he defeated and killed Philip near Verona and was recognized as Emperor by the Senate afterwards. During his reign, he strengthens the Roman Emperor and his religion Christianity.This silver Antoninianus weighs around 3.79, issued by Tarjan Decius during his rule in Roman Empire. The obverse of this coin depicts 'bust of the king facing towards the right' and the legend ‘radiate and cuirassed bust of the ruler to right’. The reverse of this coin depicts ‘Uberitas standing facing head left, holding purse and cornucopia’.
