Arthur Neville Chamberlain was a British Politician of the Conservative Party who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from May 1937 to May 1940. He was also closely associated with the policy of appeasement towards Nazi Germany. He is best known for his policy of ‘appeasement towards Adolf Hitler’s Germany. Neville Chamberlain was an influencer politician in the late 19th Century. Neville’s older half-brother Austen held many Conservative cabinet positions in the early 20th century and won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Neville Chamberlain was a successful Businessman in Birmingham. In the year 1915, he was appointed as Lord Mayor of Birmingham. In 1916, Lloyd George appointed him director-general of the department of national service, but disagreements between them led Chamberlain to resign. In the year 1918, he was elected as Conservative Member of Parliament for Ladywood in Birmingham and was rapidly promoted.
