Greek King George I Commemorative Stamp

King George, I of Greece was the king of Greece, who ruled Greece from 30th March 1863 until his assassination on 18th March 1913. He ruled Greece for almost 50 years, and during these 50 years of reign, he was characterized by territorial gains as Greece established its place in pre-World War I Europe and reunified much of the Greek-speaking world.King George, I sat on the throne of Greece when he was 17 years old, elected as a king by Greek National Assembly, his nomination was both suggested and supported by the Great Powers: The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Second French Empire and the Russian Empire.
This commemorative stamp was issued by Greece to commemorate him in the year 1965.
