Copper Falus of Khandesh Sultanate Bahadur Shah

This copper falus was issued by the ruler Bahadur Shah of Khandesh Sultanate. Khandesh is situated in the north-western region of Maharashtra State. It lies on the north-western corner of Deccan Plateau, in the Valley of Tapi River.Khandesh was ruled by the Faruqi dynasty from 1370 to 1600 CE. The Sultanate was formed by Malik Ahmad also known as Malik Khan as an independent kingdom. Malik Khan was appointed as Commander-in-Chief of Khandesh by Firuz Shah Tughluq, but after the death of Firuz Shah Tughluq, Malik Khan declares him as independent and formed this kingdom.
