This Little Red Riding Hood Coin is the first issue in the new Fairy Tales and Fables Series from the Cook Islands."Little Red Riding Hood" is a European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf. Its origins can be traced back to the 10th century to several European folk tales. The story has been changed considerably in various retellings and subjected to numerous modern adaptations and readings. Other names for the story are: "Little Red Ridinghood", "Little Red Cap" or simply "Red Riding Hood". In the year 2019 Cook Islands issued a 3 Ounce high relief and a .999 pure silver coin. The coin features the Smartminting technology, has an Antique Finish quality with dark highlights.
The reverse of the coin depicts the beautiful image of Little Red Riding Hood walking in the woods with the Wolf waiting for the right moment to attack. The coin is full of details and is minted with great precision. On the bottom of the reverse, the inscription: “2019” – the year of issue. The obverse of the coin portrays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by wonderful Fairy Tales elements, and the inscriptions: “FAIRY TALES” – the name of the series, “ELIZABETH II” – the name of the Queen, “20 DOLLARS” – the face value and “COOK ISLANDS” - the issuing country.
