Ghiyath Al-Din Bahadur Shah of Bengal Sultanate

Ghiyath Al-Din Bahadur Shah was the son of Bengal Sultan Shams Al-Din Firuz Shah. Ghiyath Al-Din Bahadur Shah sat on the throne of Bengal Sultanate after the death of his father in the 1322 CE. He ruled this kingdom as an independent ruler between 1322 CE to1324 CE and as a governor from 1324 CE to 1328 CE.After sitting on the throne of Bengal Sultanate Ghiyath Al-Din Tughluq of the Tughluq dynasty declare war against him in the year 1324 CE. After losing the battle Ghiyath Al-Din Bahadur Shah was captured and was taken to Delhi as a prisoner. After this, the provinces of the Bengal Sultanate came into the hand of Delhi Sultanate. Later, in the same year, Muhammad Bin Tughluq; son of Ghiyath Al-Din Tughluq was appointed Ghiyath Al-Din Bahadur Shah as a governor of Sonargaon. Ghiyath Al-Din Bahadur Shah founded a new city here as Ghiyaspur, which is 24 Kilometre southwest of present-day Mymensingh.
