Bharatpur was a Princely State during the British rule in India. Today; it is a city and a Municipal Corporation in the Indian States of Rajasthan. The royal house of Bharatpur traces their history back to the 11th century AD. The rulers of Bharatpur claim their descent, as Jadon Rajputs, from Sind Pal, common ancestor with the House of Karauli.This gold mohur was issued by Randhir Singh of Princely State Bharatpur in the name of Mughal emperor Muhammad Akbar II. The obverse of this coin depicts the name and title of Mughal Emperor Muhammad Akbar II. The reverse of this coin depicts regnal year 14 and mint name Braj Indrapur (Bharatpur).
