The United States of America had issued this commemorative half dollar with the theme of Olympic France and Spain in the year 1992. This coin was issued to support the training of American athletes participating in the year 1992 Olympics Games which took place in Barcelona, Spain.
The surcharges collected from the sales of these coins will be used by the United States Olympic Committee for the objects and purposes of the Committee as established in the Amateur Sports Act of 1978.
The obverse of this coin depicts gymnast in motion with the Olympic rings and stars in the background. The reverse of this coin depicts an olive branch crossing the Olympic torch.
