The United States of America had issued this commemorative gold $ dollar with the theme of Los Angeles Olympiad Runners in the year 1984. This gold dollar was issued in the support of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics Games.
According to the per public law 97-220 of United States of America, 50 percent of the surcharges from the sales of this coins will be used as a fund to train athletes, to support local or community amateur athletic programs, and to erect training facilities. And, the remaining 50 percent will be used to stage and promote the 1984 Los Angles Olympic Games.
The obverse of this coin depicts Olympic torch runners and the Olympic Rings. The reverse of this coin depicts the picture of an eagle.
