Centennial Olympics Stadium was the main stadium of 1996 summer Olympics and 1996 Summer Paralympic Games in Atlanta. The construction of these games began in the year 1993 and it was ready for the Ceremony in the year 1996; where it hosted track and field events and the closing ceremony.
The surcharges from the sale of these coins will be used to help the variety of organizations and projects that benefits the public. The commemorative coins were issued from the United States Mint for a limited time, as specified by public law.
